After two years away, I’m coming home to where it all began—offering maternity, newborn, and family photography in Kansas City that tenderly honors the beauty of motherhood and the legacy you’re creating with every fleeting moment.
Kansas City was never supposed to be home.
It was just a stop along the way– meant to bring us closer to family until we could permanently make our way back to our families in Ohio.
But sometimes, the places you’re not planning to stay become the ones that shape you the most.
Kansas City is where I found my footing as a mother.
It’s where I was held and known by a community who loved us so deeply, we didn’t even realize how much we needed it until we were gone.
It’s where I built a business that never felt like a job— because it was rooted in heart and purpose and the magic of motherhood.
We never expected to fall in love with this city, and we surely never expected it to feel like home.
But when we moved back to Ohio— back to our roots, to where we grew up and where our families still live— we realized something we hadn’t anticipated:
We missed how we felt in Kansas City.
Home, we’ve come to understand, is more than a place. It’s a feeling. It’s belonging. It’s ease. It’s purpose. And Kansas City gave us all of that— and more.
Our time in Ohio hasn’t been wasted— it was rooted in loved ones, familiar streets, and a kind of comfort we thought we were longing for. But as the months passed, it became clear that something was missing.
We missed the rhythm of life we found in Kansas City.
The way our community showed up without hesitation.
The way kindness felt tangible.
The way my work came alive in a city that welcomed it so openly.
We didn’t expect to miss it the way we did. But we did— deeply. And that quiet tug on our hearts eventually became undeniable.
And so, with equal parts gratitude and anticipation, we’re coming home.
To the clients who continued to book sessions, cheer me on, and welcome me back with open arms over and over again— you have no idea how much that has meant to me. You’ve shown me what true community and connection looks like. And you’ve reminded me, time and again, why I do this work and why Kansas City feels like home.
I’m returning to Kansas City with full hands and a full heart.
With a refined vision.
A deepened purpose.
And a renewed devotion to mothers who want to preserve the magic in their everyday lives.
